The client wanted the flat to feel bigger than it is, which is almost never achieved by adding furniture. The brief was to remove visual clutter and make every surface earn its place.
What we changed
- Consolidated all storage into two full-height runs — one in the living room, one in the bedroom — instead of scattering cupboards.
- Kept the ceiling uninterrupted except for a shallow cove, which preserved the height that makes a small flat read larger.
- Used a consistent floor finish throughout so the eye travels without a break.
Outcome
The flat reads noticeably larger, and the client has since added nothing to it — which the studio treats as the highest compliment.
